Special Education: Response to Intervention N-8 (M.S. Ed)
Online Master’s Degree in Education
Saint Joseph ’s University is proud to offer an online graduate program in Special Education based upon Response to Intervention (RTI) leading to a Master of Science in Education degree.
This program has been created for general educators who:
- currently hold a Level 1 early childhood or elementary teaching certification and are seeking to become highly qualified with a Pennsylvania certification in Special Education (PreK – 8) (reciprocity with 33+ states);
- are already certified in Special Education and are seeking an advanced degree; or
- are seeking a Master’s degree based on state-of-the-art, research-based theory and instructional practice for meeting the diverse needs of their student population.
Our innovative curriculum is designed to develop and refine competencies in professional educators in order to meet the demands of teaching students with special needs in a variety of school environments, public and private, urban and suburban.

This online graduate program provides you with scientifically researched knowledge that will prepare you as a general educator to teach in inclusive classroom environments or to step into any Special Education position and allows you to apply the skills you have developed immediately in your career.
Earn Bonus Educational Certification
Through this innovative program, in addition to a Master’s degree in Special Education, you can earn an additional certification in Special Education that will allow you to tailor your education to fit your personal career goals and aspirations. This certification may also be earned without pursuing a Master’s degree.
